By using or accessing 55plusExplorers you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THIS PRIVACY POLICY, PLEASE DO NOT USE THE WEBSITE. In case of any conflict among this Privacy Policy and the Terms and Conditions, the Terms and Conditions shall govern unless expressly stated therein.

Once you accept the Terms and conditions and Privacy Policy and provide us with your personal data, you agree and consent that 55plusExplorers will store and manage your personal data. The User entered their data for the purpose of creating a profile and making it available on this platform and consents to disclosure of certain elements of this profile and its data upon registration. The data that all members of this platform make available to other platform members includes: first name, location: city, state, country, the name of your senior living community, profile photo, the places you want to visit, your interests, the photos you have uploaded in regards to your home and location, your personal motto and description.

2. Data protection:

Personal data is collected, saved, processed and used within the context of rendering the contractual services.

Data relating to visits to this Website is recorded on the server (date, time, viewed pages). This data is not personal, but is completely anonymized. It is only used for statistical purposes.

Forwarding data to third parties, for commercial or noncommercial purposes, does not occur. The exception to this is the publication of parts of the profile so that other members can see it, because the member entered their data for the purpose of creating a profile and with that consented to the disclosure of this data upon registration. We point out that in regards to unsecured data transmission in the internet for instance via your private email, security cannot be guaranteed.

If governmental authorities request data to conduct an investigation, we may transfer and/or disclose your information in good faith, including your personal information, to comply with legal obligations and the law.

In case you cancel your membership, your account will be deleted in the front end, but it may not be completely removed in the backend from our stored and backup copies due to technical and legal constraints. Therefore, you should not expect that all of your information will be completely removed from our databases in response to any request you may submit.

The use of contact data published in the context of this legal notice/imprint obligation by third parties for sending unsolicited advertising and information materials is hereby expressly excluded. The operators of this website expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of the unsolicited sending of advertising information, such as spam and emails.

3. Payment information:

Members pay a yearly subscription fee of USD 199.- 

A member can terminate the membership at any time before the 12-month term ends, but no refund will be due, not even a partial refund of the current year. The cancellation is made in the Personal Profile section: My Profile/Membership/Delete. Cancelling your membership implies that you lose the access to your account and all data in the profile.

The first 100 members are excempt of the membership fee until 31st of December 2022. As of 1st of January 2023 the subscription fee of USD 199.- will be charged, unless the membership is terminated by the user before.

The 55plusExplorers online community is different. We are an alternative to social media, because we do not sell any personal data and we do not allow any advertisement on our website. This enables our members to be authentic and engage in an open manner. The annual subscription fee of USD 199.- for a 12 month period helps us maintain the website and keep the platform ad free.

Subscriptions are renewed automatically for successive 12-month periods unless cancelled on or anytime before the last day of the current 12-month term.

In case you wish to participate in a chargeable tour, co-living or any other payable offer 55plusExplorers provides, we would collect and use your payment information, including your name, address, credit card number or PayPal account number and other information to bill you for the offer. By engaging in any kind of activity or transaction that uses financial information on this Website, you consent to our providing of your financial information to our service providers and to such third parties as we determine necessary to support and process transactions.

4. Third Party offers:

In case we publish offers from third parties on the website (such as products and insurances for users) and you wish to make a purchasing decision, you enter into a legal contract with the third party provider, not with 55plusExplorers. Whatever data you are requested to provide for the purchase will be subject to the third parties’ privacy policy, not ours.

5. Confidentiality and Security:

We use Two-Factor-Authentication (2FA), firewalls and the industry-standard secure socket layers (SSL) encryption on this website and SiteLock Secure to protect data transmissions. Your account information is protected by a password that you select; you are responsible for your actions taken with your login information and password. No company can fully eliminate security risks associated with Personal Information. You use the website and provide us with your information at your own risk.

6. Your use of other members’ information:

By accepting this privacy policy you agree to use other Members’ Personal Information, that you might obtain by using this website, only for 55plusExplorers related communication. You may not disclose any personal information about another member to a third party, nor use it for commercial purposes, you may not contact other members for commercial purposes. You are not permitted to add a member’s mail or email address to your personal mailing list, unless the member agrees to this.

7. Google Analytics [where applicable]:

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (»Google«). Google Analytics uses cookies, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.
